Oxford Ionics makes quantum computers using trapped ion qubits and a special noiseless electronic control system. Their products are quantum computing systems designed for very hard problems, sold to clients in pharma, finance, and materials research. How it works: trapped ion qubits store quantum information in ions held by electric fields; control electronics perform precise operations without adding much noise, enabling more reliable computations. The company differentiates itself from competitors by combining trapped ion qubits with their noiseless control technology to improve accuracy and performance. They also offer consulting to help clients adopt quantum solutions. The goal is to provide powerful, accurate quantum machines that unlock problems beyond the reach of ordinary supercomputers while attracting customers and talent to advance quantum computing.
