Job Summary:

The Principal Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network infrastructures with a focus on Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS) and network visibility tools. This role ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of enterprise networks while proactively identifying and mitigating potential threats. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in network security, monitoring, and threat prevention. Active Secret clearance or higher required.

CCIE required.

Responsibilities:

Network Security: Implement, configure, and manage IDS/IPS solutions to detect and prevent security threats.
Network Visibility: Utilize network visibility tools to monitor and analyze network traffic for potential vulnerabilities and anomalies.
Infrastructure Design: Design and optimize enterprise network architecture for scalability, security, and efficiency.
Incident Response: Collaborate with security teams to analyze threats and respond to network security incidents.
Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to industry security standards and maintain up-to-date network documentation.
Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement enhancements.
Risk Assessment: Conduct network security risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
Collaboration & Training: Work with IT and security teams to enhance security protocols and train personnel on best practices.
