Requirements
  • At least six months of nursing experience for inpatient units and specified clinical departments, or current participation in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of Nurse Residency Orientation on the unit or a similar unit.
  • Two years of nursing experience for the eICU.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • A Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin or a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the Nurse Licensure Compact is required.
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide care to patients with complex acute illnesses and chronic conditions on the 18-bed Family Practice and 10-bed Forensic unit.
  • Collaborate with correctional officers while caring for incarcerated patients from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
  • Complete specific training to care for the forensic patient population.
  • Work a day/evening schedule with weekend and holiday rotations based on departmental operational needs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Relevant Registered Nurse experience.
  • Relevant certification.
