Responsibilities
  • Serve as the group’s Contamination Control Engineering (CCE) Subject Matter Expert for ensuring Axiom Space Lunar & LEO Tools & FSE hardware are certified for NASA’s science, packaging, and contamination control requirements
  • Advise, guide, and provide consultation on Materials & Processes requirements for intravehicular (IVA) and extravehicular (EVA) environments, including materials selection, process control and qualification, design for corrosion prevention, and processes specification
  • Provide input to program/project specifications and ensure appropriate materials requirements are incorporated into all program/project specifications at the right level
  • Develop and manage project/program documentation and specifications to ensure NASA & program standards are met regarding Science Sampling, Materials Identification Usage List (MIUL’s), and contamination knowledge control plans are successfully implemented for spaceflight hardware
  • Serve as the group’s representative to the Material Review Board (MRB)
  • Provide the program with recommendations for qualification and acceptance testing that will properly satisfy verification of requirements for pressurized and unpressurized systems
  • Be familiar with metallic and non-metallic materials specifications, properties, testing
  • Provide inspection and manufacturing process support for human space flight systems
  • Perform other systems engineering tasks as necessary
