Steadily is hiring a VP of Insurance Product who will be responsible for creating new products and improving existing products for our landlord customers. You will work tirelessly to maintain Steadily’s position as the market leader in product innovation, sophistication, and profitability. What You’ll Do
Build the products that make us the best landlord insurance company in the world, while delivering excellent loss ratios.
Assist in the development of both short and long term product strategy by collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders.
Drive mind blowing sophistication in pricing and risk selection across our various product offerings.
Monitor profitability and competitiveness performance across all markets. Seek out opportunities to move into new segments of the landlord market.
Lead, coach and manage a team of outstanding insurance product professionals.
Work closely with underwriting, claims, product, actuarial, and finance to ensure profitability and an overall excellent experience for customers.
This position reports directly to the Chief Insurance Officer
Your Background
Experienced: You have at least 7 years of experience in insurance product development at an insurance carrier or wholesaler that is property and casualty focused. You have a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in an insurance setting. You are proficient with programming languages such as SQL, python, R, etc.
Nice to have: CPCU, MS in Statistics or Analytics, some actuarial exams passed
Self-Driven: You thrive under intense pressure and can manage a large workload and projects with minimal oversight. There is no task too small or beneath you; “that’s not my job” is not in your mantra. You are resourceful and will run through walls to get stuff done.
Leadership: You know how to get the most out of a team of high performers. You’re not an ivory tower kind of leader. You roll up your sleeves and practice what you preach, working as hard and producing the same quality of work as your direct reports. You can manage a professional sports team while also hitting homers yourself.
Insurance: Extensive knowledge of statistics, rating, underwriting, quantitative analysis, form development, filings, compliance, etc. You are comfortable working alongside actuaries, underwriters, modelers, and claims adjusters.
Project Management: You have above average project management skills. You’re great at moving the ball forward on multiple projects simultaneously. You know how to get a deal across the finish line at financially favorable terms.
Hungry: You want to make the leap into an earlier-stage tech company to rapidly accelerate your growth. You want to roll up your sleeves and hustle – you are not looking for a traditional 9-5 job.
