  • A Commercial Driver License Class B is preferred but not required to apply; the selected candidate must complete CDL licensing upon hire.
  • A Commercial Driver License Class B is required for operating 26-foot box trucks.
  • A DCSD White Fleet Certification is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English are required, along with the ability to read and comprehend written, graphic, and oral instructions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are required.
  • The position requires constant lifting of 5 to 20 pounds and frequent lifting of 20 to 50 pounds.
  • The position requires frequent bending, squatting, standing, reaching, extensive walking, and stooping, as well as occasional sitting, climbing, kneeling, and crawling.
  • The position involves exposure to institutional food-preparation equipment, sharp objects, heat, steam, extreme cold, cleaning chemicals and supplies, outside weather, and potentially loud noise.
  • The employee must observe all District policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Distribute and deliver food, supplies, and equipment, including pulling and staging orders.
  • Deliver food and supply orders in a 26-foot box truck.
  • Develop and maintain connections with stakeholders to support the operations and functions of the department.
  • Maintain accurate food, supply, and equipment transfer records.
  • Communicate with the Warehouse Lead Receiver and Warehouse Foreman regarding inventory shortages and replacement needs.
  • Annually complete all USDA-mandated Professional Standards training hours required by the position category.
  • Pull individual site orders, stage warehouse orders, and transfer them accurately.
  • Comply with HACCP procedures.
  • Comply with Federal, State, and Local regulations to ensure safety for staff and students.
  • Move equipment between sites, the repair shop, and the warehouse in a 26-foot box truck.
  • Assemble equipment.
  • Perform light mechanical work and preventive maintenance on warehouse and kitchen equipment.
  • Assist with quarterly inventory.
  • Receive and put away warehouse orders of fresh produce, bread, and semitrailer loads of dry and frozen goods.
  • Process food and supply orders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
