Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is required, although work experience may substitute.
  • Strong experience with Python and Apache Spark is required.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, extract-transform-load processes, orchestration, and distributed computing is required.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms is required.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies is required.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team is required.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Related experience in analytic programming, data extraction, querying databases or data warehouses, and data analysis is required.
  • Experience utilizing continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines is required.
  • Candidates must be United States citizens or Green Card holders and must have been United States residents for at least the past three years.
  • Candidates must be able to meet the requirements to hold a Public Trust position, including successful completion of a United States government background investigation.
Responsibilities
  • Leverage test-driven development to deliver backend systems and user interfaces that ease development and integration between them.
  • Contribute to the development of application programming interfaces, specifications, and data models to facilitate integration with frontend applications and third-party systems.
  • Design, implement, and maintain data interactions; optimize data operations for performance and scalability; and ensure data integrity and security.
  • Design and develop user interfaces informed by user experience designs that meet customer needs.
  • Understand and contribute to functional and non-functional automated testing suites.
  • Scope, estimate, design, and deliver medium-to-large features while reducing technical debt.
  • Follow team processes and deliver a consistent flow of features to production.
  • Proactively support other team members and help them succeed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services, including S3, EC2, Glue, and Lambda.
  • Experience with R.
  • Professional Databricks or Apache Spark certifications.
  • Experience with SAS.
