  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Five or more years of related work experience in operational management are required.
  • The Operations Manager Trainee must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance, with the driver’s license verified through a motor vehicle record check at hire.
  • The role requires reliable transportation for timely travel to multiple offices per day; reliable alternate transportation is acceptable in lieu of a driver’s license and automobile insurance.
  • Knowledge of dental plans, insurance fees, administrative guidelines, limitations and exclusions, reporting systems, business correspondence, business reporting techniques, and profit and loss statements is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, Epic, 1VU, Box, and standard office equipment is required.
  • The ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports and legal documents is required.
  • The ability to apply mathematical concepts, including fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, probability, and statistical inference, is required.
  • The ability to lead a team, prioritize duties, coach, mentor, train, write effective performance evaluations, conduct feedback, and handle team member relations issues is required.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and present information verbally and in writing is required.
  • The role requires independent judgment, timely and accurate decision-making, multitasking, task prioritization, problem-solving, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work with limited direction in a fast-paced environment.
  • The role requires the ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures and respond to inquiries from patients, team members, regulatory agencies, vendors, and other business community members.

Responsibilities
  • Model company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices while creating an environment that promotes company culture and values.
  • Assess, hire, train, supervise, counsel, coach, and retain right-fit team members.
  • Assess, investigate, and resolve staff and patient issues by analyzing facts and circumstances and developing timely, effective solutions.
  • Execute the operational model consistently to meet office imperatives in partnership with the Owner Dentist.
  • Drive year-over-year revenue and profit growth.
  • Manage expenses to achieve monthly goals and budget.
  • Follow cash management and accounting protocols.
  • Support team development of the Perfect Patient Experience.
  • Deliver leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members and identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain open communication with direct supervisors and bring issues and concerns forward openly and early.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policies.
  • Use people-related functions including assessment, hiring, retention, performance evaluation, separation processes, and compensation guidance and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and state, federal, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Report weekly to the Regional Manager on accomplishments, improvement areas, performance goals, and system effectiveness.
  • Demonstrate competency in managing Front Office and Back Office team members by the end of the development program.
  • Develop and implement an office success plan, including staff development and office protocols for efficient operations during manager absences.
  • Travel to assigned offices, including multiple offices per day when required.
  • Complete the Operations Manager Development Program through structured curriculum, practical on-the-job application, and development meetings.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience leading a team, mentoring, and coaching subordinates is preferred.
