Requirements
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate and five years of clinical research experience; or two years of college in a scientific, health-related, or business administration program and three years of clinical research experience; or a licensed practical nurse (LPN) license and two years of clinical research experience; or a bachelor's degree in a scientific, health-related, or business administration-related program and one year of clinical research experience; or a master's degree, Doctor of Medicine (MD), or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in a scientific, health-related, or business administration program.
  • All clinical training requirements must be tracked and monitored through Emory Healthcare under the Clinical Researcher credentialing category.
  • Clinical research tasks must be performed in person at an Emory University location.
Responsibilities
  • Manage research project databases, develop flow sheets and other study-related documents, and complete source documents and case report forms.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced staff.
  • Interface with research participants, determine eligibility, and consent study participants according to protocol.
  • Approve orders for supplies and equipment maintenance.
  • Assist in developing recruitment strategies and conduct screenings for study participants, including interviews and questionnaires.
  • Supervise collection and processing of study specimens.
  • Establish case packages for study procedures, monitor scheduling of procedures and charges, and coordinate other services as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with research protocols, review case report forms, audit them for accuracy against source documents, and attend sponsor monitoring meetings.
  • Prepare regulatory submissions.
  • Perform phlebotomy or diagnostics when appropriately credentialed and trained.
  • Perform other related approved responsibilities as required.
