Requirements
  • High school diploma, associate degree, or equivalent certificate
  • 5+ years of experience in set up, operation and/or programming of CNC mill or lathe machines
  • Experience programming in Mastercam or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack ups
  • Strong communication skills and ability to read and provide feedback on technical documents
  • Ability to train operators how to setup and run machines
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted
  • Ability to stand for extended periods - 8 hours min
  • Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces
  • Repetitive movement, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting
Responsibilities
  • You are expected to have a comprehensive understanding of all CNC machining and programming operations
  • This role is tasked with working in close concert with machinist, leads, engineering teams, and machining operations management to increase productivity and optimizing machining programs and procedures
  • You will use MasterCam and NX to program CNC parts as well as use Vericut NC files to maintain revision control on programs and setup sheets
  • You are knowledgeable of carbide tools and adjusting speed and feed parameters for maximum tool life
  • You will make or offer suggestions on drawing changes to improve manufacturability
  • You will machine your own fixture tooling
  • You will consistently meet expectations for productivity and production goals while constantly keep products moving and alerting management when production is inhibited
  • You will provide consistent ideas for process improvements
  • You will set up and operate multi-axis CNC machines (mills and lathes) up to and including 5-axis mills and 6-axis lathes
  • You are comfortable with all types of drilling, tapping and milling and turning and are able to complete machining operations from blueprints, drawings and/or verbal instructions
  • You are comfortable working with complex, tight tolerance parts and various materials
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a startup development environment
  • Experience working in a flight development program
  • Experience working with Inconel and Titanium
  • Experience machining 3D printed parts, castings, or forgings
  • Experience transitioning parts from first article to production
