Requirements
- High school diploma, associate degree, or equivalent certificate
- 5+ years of experience in set up, operation and/or programming of CNC mill or lathe machines
- Experience programming in Mastercam or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack ups
- Strong communication skills and ability to read and provide feedback on technical documents
- Ability to train operators how to setup and run machines
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted
- Ability to stand for extended periods - 8 hours min
- Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces
- Repetitive movement, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting
Responsibilities
- You are expected to have a comprehensive understanding of all CNC machining and programming operations
- This role is tasked with working in close concert with machinist, leads, engineering teams, and machining operations management to increase productivity and optimizing machining programs and procedures
- You will use MasterCam and NX to program CNC parts as well as use Vericut NC files to maintain revision control on programs and setup sheets
- You are knowledgeable of carbide tools and adjusting speed and feed parameters for maximum tool life
- You will make or offer suggestions on drawing changes to improve manufacturability
- You will machine your own fixture tooling
- You will consistently meet expectations for productivity and production goals while constantly keep products moving and alerting management when production is inhibited
- You will provide consistent ideas for process improvements
- You will set up and operate multi-axis CNC machines (mills and lathes) up to and including 5-axis mills and 6-axis lathes
- You are comfortable with all types of drilling, tapping and milling and turning and are able to complete machining operations from blueprints, drawings and/or verbal instructions
- You are comfortable working with complex, tight tolerance parts and various materials
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a startup development environment
- Experience working in a flight development program
- Experience working with Inconel and Titanium
- Experience machining 3D printed parts, castings, or forgings
- Experience transitioning parts from first article to production
