Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2+ years of work experience preferred
  • Relevant QA knowledge is valued but not required
  • Knowledge of CAP and CLIA guidelines are valued but not required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, able to multi-task in a dynamic environment
  • Must have positive internal customer service attitude and be a team player
Responsibilities
  • Conduct internal quality audits within a timely manner
  • Assist in administering the Proficiency Testing program
  • Assist in maintaining the CAP Laboratory Data Report
  • Represent the Quality Assurance Department in the absence of the QA/QC Manager
  • Assist with any client or regulatory agency inspections and audits
  • Assist and provide information for compliance review and audits
  • Author and revise quality-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Train personnel on new or revised SOPs
  • Collect and maintain the number of completed continuing education credits for all technical staff members
  • Monitor and assist departments with organizing and filing completed forms to ensure compliance and inspection readiness
  • Provide departments with quality assurance guidance and support to ensure strict adherence to policies, processes and procedures
  • Monitor the QA activities of the laboratory to meet the needs of patients, staff and external agencies
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the lab Quality Management system
  • Implement changes that will enhance the Quality Process of the lab
  • Assure that all records adhere to CLIA and CAP guidelines
  • Maintain quality assurance personnel files
  • Perform other duties as requested as deemed appropriate
