Rolfson Oil provides fueling solutions and lubricant logistics for the oilfield, focusing exclusively on the oil and gas sector. It supplies diesel and related lubricants and offers onsite fuel management to keep oil wells and frac fleets fueled. It differentiates itself with proprietary BATBOX onsite dual-fueling systems that run engines on diesel and field gas, plus on-site gas processing to monetize flare gas and reduce emissions. Its goal is to grow into a larger integrated energy company across major shale basins, expanding capacity and pursuing acquisitions while expanding natural gas–related offerings.

Pioneer Energy deploys gas conditioning systems for Rolfson Oil's Tri-Fueling frac operations

Pioneer Energy is supplying field gas conditioning equipment to support Rolfson Oil's Tri-Fueling approach for hydraulic fracturing operations. The equipment includes mechanical refrigeration units and auxiliary skids that remove water and heavy hydrocarbons from field gas to provide consistent fuel. Rolfson Oil, described as the largest provider of frac fueling services in the US, uses Pioneer's technology as part of its Tri-Fueling system, which distributes conditioned field gas to dual fuel and natural gas powered equipment. The approach aims to reduce frac fuel costs and improve operational efficiency. Pioneer Energy's Vice President Joseph Palaia said increased field gas utilisation presents an immediate pathway to reduce costs. Both companies believe field gas utilisation represents an important evolution in frac fleet fueling as operators prioritise cost reduction and emissions performance.
