- Be well versed in hotel fire and life safety and emergency procedures.
- Attend all briefings, meetings, and trainings assigned by management.
- Report for duty on time wearing a clean and complete uniform.
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene.
- Conduct checks and remove any fire hazards found on the premises.
- Test fire safety systems, ensure they are in good operating condition, and oversee their maintenance.
- Prepare and formulate a fire emergency plan for the hotel.
- Organize regular fire drills and evaluate evacuation procedures.
- Educate employees in establishing a fire-safe environment and train them in basic firefighting and rescue.
- Ensure that there are sufficient qualified first aiders in the hotel.
- Set up a fire safety committee comprising suitable staff from various departments.
- Prepare and formulate fire safety guidebooks for the hotel.
- Enforce fire safety rules stipulated in the fire emergency plan.
- Report to management on the fire safety of the hotel.
- Liaise and coordinate with the Singapore Civil Defence Force on fire safety matters and requirements.
- Ensure that the number of persons in any part of the hotel does not exceed the authorized maximum under the fire code.
- Supervise firefighting and evacuation during fires or other emergencies.
- Keep the Director of Security updated on security matters affecting the hotel and department.
- Remain on call, including during off-duty hours, for emergencies.
- Train and appoint a responsible person to assume duties during the officer's absence.
- Comply with hotel and department policies and procedures.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by hotel management.
