Requirements
  • You have a PhD in genomics, bioinformatics, genomic epidemiology, molecular ecology or a closely related discipline.
  • You are an experienced genomic epidemiologist, molecular ecologist or bioinformatician with hands on sequencing analysis skills.
  • You possess strong population genetics and statistical analysis experience applied to pathogen genomic data, especially Plasmodium spp.
  • You are collaborative, self-driven and able to lead projects with minimal supervision while supporting team objectives.
  • You have a proven track record in preparing manuscripts, presenting at conferences and contributing to grant applications.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and Deliver Research: Independently design, plan and execute genomic epidemiology experiments and analyses to meet project timelines and milestones.
  • Analyse, Record and Communicate Findings: Perform qualitative and statistical analysis of sequencing and epidemiological data, maintain detailed records and report results to collaborators.
  • Project Development and Funding Contribution: Contribute to manuscript preparation and assist in drafting competitive grant applications related to your research.
  • Supervision, Engagement and Compliance: Mentor students and junior staff, present at meetings and conferences, and support laboratory documentation, ethics/OGTR compliance and OH&S responsibilities.
