Requirements
  • Master’s degree completed or in progress, preferably in higher education, public health, social work, counseling, or other health or mental health-related field; or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
  • A minimum of two years working with adolescents or college population in the area of health promotion/education, mental health services, and/or program development; leadership positions and internships in a graduate program may count towards this experience
  • A valid driver’s license or equivalent alternate form of transportation to off-site meetings and events is required
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based health promotion programs that support student wellbeing and healthy decision-making
  • Deliver presentations, workshops, and trainings for students, student leaders, faculty, staff, and families on topics relevant to college student health and wellbeing
  • Develop and maintain health education materials across multiple platforms (e.g., digital content, print materials, web resources)
  • Recruit, train, and supervise student Peer Health Ambassadors (PHAs), fostering a collaborative and supportive peer education program that aligns with the Dean of Students Office wellbeing framework
  • Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and feedback to PHAs and other student leaders to support effective programming and skill development
  • Collaborate with PHAs and other health-focused student organizations to plan and implement health promotion initiatives and events
  • Support the Dean of Students Office mental health case management system by meeting with students, identifying needs, and connecting them with appropriate campus and community resources
  • Maintain ongoing communication with students to support progress, encourage self-advocacy, and promote wellbeing
  • Document student interactions in Maxient Case Management System and participate in regular case consultation meetings
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Dean of Students Office and campus partners to evaluate student wellbeing and academic trends and create responsive programming
  • Support restorative and educational interventions related to student conduct or health-related concerns, as appropriate
  • Apply harm reduction, public health frameworks, and inclusive practices in all programming and outreach efforts
  • Maintain working knowledge of relevant policies, regulations, and best practices related to student mental health and wellbeing
  • Partner with campus and 7C consortium colleagues to support coordinated, holistic approaches to student wellbeing
  • Serve on committees and working groups as needed to advance health promotion and student support initiatives
  • Maintain a visible, approachable presence on campus, including participation in programs that may occur during evenings or weekends
