Requirements
  • One to two years of experience serving or bartending in a full-service restaurant is required.
  • Strong English communication skills are required to establish and develop relationships with team members, partners, and customers.
  • Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions is required.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system are required.
  • Valid Ontario Smart Serve certification is required.
  • The ability to maintain professionalism, control, and composure in difficult and stressful situations is required.
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time, up to five hours, is required.
  • Applicants must be over 18 because alcohol service and open scheduling availability are requirements.
  • Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Responsibilities
  • Greet guests in a prompt and welcoming manner.
  • Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
  • Make quality recommendations to guests.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of all food and beverage items and accommodate dietary requests and allergies.
  • Take food and beverage orders, enter them into the point-of-sale system, and accurately relay orders to the kitchen and bar.
  • Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner.
  • Polish cutlery, glassware, and plateware during and at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all service areas.
  • Check tables to ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service and respond promptly and courteously to requests.
  • Involve a manager promptly when a guest conflict or situation arises.
  • Prepare final bills, present checks to guests, and process payments.
  • Assist fellow servers as needed.
  • Assist serving assistants by clearing and resetting tables.
  • Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
  • Provide support as needed to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operations as directed by the general manager or manager in charge.
  • Complete cash-out procedures at the end of the shift.
  • Execute other tasks as required.

  • Wine and cocktail knowledge is considered an asset.
