Who we are looking for
Re:Car is looking for an energetic, organized, experienced Head of Interior Engineering to join our growing team. Re:Car is a new US Electric Vehicle company transforming the battery electric vehicle space. Our technology is designed to deliver the most reliable and most efficient low cost of ownership electric vehicle on the market.
What you get to do
The Head of Interior Engineering will develop and manage the team that is responsible for leading a team of engineers and designers to develop and deliver the Interior Systems and required releasing functions for our innovative electric vehicles. This includes the Instrument Panel, interior and frunk trim, seats, and other associated trim components. You will work closely with other functional groups, suppliers, and external partners to ensure the highest quality, performance, and aesthetics for our Interior systems. You will also manage the budget, timeline, and resources for your projects and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
In this position you and your team will architect, design, develop, source, build, test, and launch the above systems to the quality standards of the company.

What you bring to the team
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program is preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in the automotive industry, with proven track record of delivering interior systems including seating requirements.
- Knowledge and expertise in seats and automotive standard trim
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong planning and program management skills
- A passion for electric vehicles and a vision for the future of mobility
- Excellent Team building and relationship building skills.
- Ability to lead teams and meetings through technical tradeoffs and optimized solutions with attention to detail.
- Broad vehicle technical and vehicle development process knowledge including how to set technical targets, work with teams to determine feasibility (virtually and physically) and validate with statistical confidence.
- Design Release Engineering experience
- Ability and Desire to build your own team and work in a fun and fast paced environment.
