Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college, university, or technical school with a major in public administration, business administration, human resources, management, training and development, or a closely related field, and two years of professional-level experience developing or evaluating lesson plans and conducting training in an adult learning environment.
  • Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.
  • Alternatively, two years with Pima County in a Training and Education Coordinator II - Department position.
  • A valid driver's license is required at the time of application, and a valid Arizona driver's license is required at the time of appointment.
  • The successful applicant must pass a 39-month Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Record review for suitability to operate county vehicles.
  • The successful applicant must pass a pre-employment background screening, including verification of work history, education, and criminal conviction history.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and update or maintain instructor-led training courses, including PowerPoint presentations, Articulate Storyline, Adobe, facilitator guides, participant guides, pre- and post-work activities, and job aids.
  • Facilitate training courses for County employees on Human Resources, information technology, and safety applications and practices in classroom or virtual settings using interactive audio-video equipment and software.
  • Plan, design, develop, update, and maintain curricula for Human Resources, Organizational Development, Employee Development, Career Development, and Leadership Development.
  • Plan, design, develop, update, and maintain online courses, including e-learning courses, micro-learning, and online resources that ensure Sharable Content Object Reference Model compliance.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, flow, balance, and clarity of curriculum.
  • Evaluate and recommend new or revised training programs, such as computer-based and interactive training, to management.
  • Monitor individual training performance and provide assistance when necessary.
  • Create, schedule, and confirm class attendance in a Learning Management System.
  • Coordinate specialized training with outside vendors or other technical experts.
  • Participate in evaluations of new or proposed information technology, Human Resources, or safety systems and projects, and co-lead continuous improvement efforts within the scope of responsibility.
  • Create surveys and reports for client departments.
  • Assist in developing and enforcing client-environment configuration and deployment procedures and practices.
  • Communicate information to and between client departments and other relevant resources.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience designing, developing, and facilitating training on human resources and workplace compliance topics, including new employee onboarding, organizational policies, Equal Employment Opportunity communication skills, customer service, leadership, and other employee development programs.
  • Experience applying adult learning theory principles and instructional design best practices to develop engaging e-learning training using applications and software such as Articulate 360, Powtoons, or similar applications.
  • Experience tracking, evaluating, and analyzing training content and documentation.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite for design and data management, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working in a Workday Learning Management System environment.
