  • Have previously worked in a SRE, platform engineer, product engineer, systems engineer, or developer productivity engineer role.
  • You possess excellent communication and collaboration skills. You play well on a small, tight-knit team.
  • You are a self‐starter and problem solver, willing to solve hard problems and work independently when necessary. You identify potential problems and nip them in the bud before they surface.

  • You have a passion for reducing toil for yourself and your colleagues, and love solving problems with scripts and automation (e.g. with Python and Bash).
  • You have successfully run large-scale production systems on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • You are familiar with running systems with a distributed service-oriented architecture. This includes operating tools and platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, Consul, Istio, and AWS ECS.
  • You have extensive experience codifying infrastructure with tools like Terraform and other configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • You have deep experience with the full lifecycle of software delivery from local development to production and can create solutions in these areas to reduce developer friction.
  • You have strong proficiency in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools like GitHub Actions, CircleCI, GitLab CI, Spinnaker, and ArgoCD.
  • You have written software in languages like Go or Python.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement in their development lifecycle, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) building blocks for consistent provisioning.
  • Seek out and identify opportunities in the tooling, pipelines, and feedback mechanisms to improve developer productivity.
  • Design, build, and implement automated tools for scaffolding a new service including dependent infrastructure, code repositories, CI/CD workflows, and observability.
  • Maintain solid connection through high engagement with other product delivery engineers to anticipate changes around the corner and contribute your ideas to developing proactive solutions.
  • Use your infrastructure and systems engineering skills to contribute code, perform code reviews, and create technical designs that improve the efficiency and reliability of our delivery systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve delivery pipeline issues to ensure a reliable release process.
  • Keep up-to-date with platform engineering industry trends and emerging technologies.
