Advanced Energy launches AIF13WAC, 600 W full-brick 48 V AC-DC supply with up to 94% peak efficiency. Delivers 20% higher output with 14% lower losses Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: AEIS), a global leader in highly engineered, precision power conversion, measurement and control solutions, has extended its range of AIF full-brick board-mounted AC-DC power supplies for telecom and industrial applications with the AIF13WAC, 48 V 600 W, with a peak efficiency of up to 94%. Unlike most available devices of this type, the new AIF13WAC integrates full digital control and monitoring (via PMBus) and active current sharing along with internal inrush limiting functionality. Compared to the previous generation, the AIF13WAC increases output power by 20% in the same form-factor and therefore is compatible with all accessories created for previous generations, including case-kits, heatsinks and EMI filters. For contact-cooled, fanless applications such as IP-sealed designs, there is now an easy upgrade path to deliver greater power than the previous generation of 500 W products. "The growing demand for higher-power solutions makes seamless system upgrades essential. The AIF13WAC meets this need by offering a drop-in replacement for earlier generations, within the same form factor, enabling engineers to boost performance without changing their existing designs," said David Richmond, Advanced Energy's senior vice president, High Volume Products, System Power. "The AIF13WAC also adds an auxiliary output and other enhancements that extend flexibility beyond what's typically available in comparable platforms." The AIF13WAC accepts a wide input voltage range of 90 to 264 V AC, and delivers a 13 A, 48 V DC nominal output alongside a 10 V (250 mA) auxiliary output. It is housed in a 2.4 x 4.6 x 0.55-inch full-brick form factor and can run with up to three units in parallel. The input EMI filter, hold-up capacitors, and output capacitors are the only external components required for the realization of a successful application design. About Advanced Energy Advanced Energy (Nasdaq: AEIS) is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of highly engineered, precision power conversion, measurement and control solutions for mission-critical applications and processes. Advanced Energy Industries has launched the LPP200 series, a 200 W ultra-low-profile AC-DC power supply designed for medical and industrial devices. The series features a profile of just 0.75 inches (19 mm), enabling greater miniaturisation in equipment such as patient monitors, displays and infusion pumps. The power supplies are certified to EN/IEC/cUL60601-1 safety standards for Type BF medical applications and EN/IEC/cUL62368 standards for industrial use. With a power density of 33W/in³ and a footprint of 2 x 4 x 0.75 inches, the series offers voltage outputs ranging from 12 V to 48 V. The LPP200 series delivers high EMI and EMC performance, making it suitable for demanding medical and heavy industrial requirements whilst enabling equipment size reduction without compromising performance.
Advanced Energy Industries reported that data centre demand more than doubled last year, helping drive revenue growth and high-teens growth guidance for this year. Management expects improving semiconductor visibility in the second half and continues targeting a 40% gross margin, up from approximately 35% at the start of 2024. The company is accelerating capital spending to meet faster-than-expected data centre demand and higher power requirements. A new Thailand facility, representing 100% incremental capacity, is expected to begin manufacturing in early 2027. In semiconductors, Advanced Energy achieved a second consecutive year of growth and anticipates further expansion. The industrial and medical segment, which had been lagging, showed 10% sequential growth in the fourth quarter and posted its first year-over-year growth in two years.
Advanced Energy's shares rose 7.8% after several analysts raised their price targets for the manufacturing equipment and systems provider. KeyBanc lifted its target to $280, Needham increased to $290, and Stifel raised to $270. Needham specifically highlighted robust demand in data centre computing and a favourable outlook for the semiconductor business. The positive analyst actions pushed the stock to a new all-time high, reflecting growing investor confidence in the company's performance across key markets. The stock has risen 21.1% year-to-date, reaching $268.84 per share. Advanced Energy previously reported strong third-quarter results, with revenue growing 23.8% year-on-year to $463.3 million, beating analyst expectations.
