Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least one year of paid or unpaid service experience with individuals such as children, youth, elderly people, or people with physical, emotional, or mental disabilities or special needs, or related coursework as determined through review of a college transcript, is required.
  • A current driver's license and good driving record are required, along with the ability to transport others.
  • All employees must complete a drug screen, tuberculosis test, and extensive background checks, including criminal history, sex offender registry, state central registry, education verification, and professional references.
Responsibilities
  • Provide life-skills training to adults with mental illness who live in residential facilities.
  • Help residents build skills and live independently and successfully.
  • Provide residential skills coaching in organizational skills, budgeting, shopping, and general life skills in a supportive living environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of the Recovery Model is preferred.
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in a related field such as Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling from a college or university accredited by the United States Department of Education is a plus.
