About Us
The purpose of this position is to effectively support the implementation of a new Electronic Health Records (EHR) software system at Correctional Health Services (CHS). The position will play a crucial role in analyzing business processes, gathering requirements, and translating them into functional specifications to implement the EHR system successfully. This position will also assist other project team members develop reports, providing training, facilitating upgrades, conducting needs assessments, and working with another team to plan for process improvements that meet the department’s functional needs.

We Require
- One year of related experience as an IT Business Systems Analyst or related role
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field
- A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

- Strong understanding of healthcare operations, processes, and clinical workflows
- Proficient in gathering and documenting business requirements and translating them into functional specifications
- Experience in system analysis, design, configuration, and testing
- Knowledge of EHR systems and healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, CDA, ICD-10) is highly desirable
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Job Contributions
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including department leaders, clinicians, administrators, and IT staff, to identify business needs and requirements for the EHR software implementation
- Conduct a thorough analysis of existing business processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement and optimization
- Gather and document detailed business and functional requirements, ensuring clarity, completeness, and feasibility
- Work closely with the Project Manager and technical teams to translate requirements into functional specifications, system design, and configuration
- Collaborate with vendors and software developers to ensure that system design and functionality align with business requirements
- Conduct system testing, including developing test cases, executing tests, and documenting results to ensure the system meets defined requirements
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by coordinating with end-users, capturing feedback, and facilitating issue resolution
- Provide guidance and support to end-users during the training and adoption phase of the EHR software implementation
- Collaborate with the project team to develop and deliver training materials and user documentation
- Participate in change management activities, including communication and stakeholder engagement, to ensure a smooth transition and user adoption of the new EHR system
Working Conditions
- Works regularly in a standard office environment, requiring the ability to sit and perform duties on a computer for long periods. At times, they may be required to work inside a jail. Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check. Hybrid schedules may be available after the initial training period.
