Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required for Grants Manager A.
  • A Bachelor's Degree with 5-7 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required for Grants Manager B.
  • The position requires managing sponsored program funds from pre-award through post-award, including proposal development, budget development, submission requirements, charge monitoring, account reconciliation, financial reporting, payroll processing, and grant expenditure compliance.
  • The position requires reviewing proposals for compliance with sponsor and University policies and ensuring Regulatory Affairs requirements and Conflict-of-Interest submissions are satisfied when required.
Responsibilities
  • Support the research activities of assigned Principal Investigators.
  • Manage sponsored program funds from pre-award through post-award for a diverse sponsor portfolio.
  • Work with Principal Investigators on proposal development, budget development, and related pre-award requirements and submissions.
  • Manage post-award processes, including monitoring and reviewing charges, reconciling accounts, and preparing monthly financial reports for Principal Investigators.
  • Consult with research faculty on sponsored project budgets and proposals.
  • Provide full accounting services, including budget reconciliation, payroll processing, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor grant expenditures for compliance with sponsor regulations and guidelines.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the post-award process for sponsored program activities within a $10-15 million portfolio for Grants Manager A.
  • Provide input on policies and help implement them for Grants Manager A.
  • Create salary grids and assist with Effort Reporting.
  • Oversee and manage a more complex post-award portfolio involving large programmatic grants and institutional training grants within a $15-25 million portfolio for Grants Manager B.
  • Serve as a resource for other grants staff by helping them interpret policies and significantly contribute to departmental policy creation and implementation for Grants Manager B.
  • Assist Directors with the annual budget process for Grants Manager B.
  • Manage some grant coordinator tasks for Grants Manager B.
