Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns reporting suspected violations.
  • Monitors department specific standards of care/practice.
  • Develops Nursing and Operational Performance Improvement Projects and communicates resultant data in conjunction with leadership and the Unit-Based Council, as applicable.
  • Monitors unit/clinic readiness in The Joint Commission, California and Federal standards.
  • Ensures daily assessment of unit/clinic equipment to maintain quality controls (i.e. Crash Cart check, Point-of-Ccare testing, Medication Refrigerators, as applicable).
  • Ensures unit/clinic based patient care equipment is working accurately without defect; places work orders when necessary with subsequent timely follow-up.
  • R rounds with staff members/patients daily to evaluate care and services of patients.
  • Facilitates availability of adequate material resources and supplies.
  • Assists control of expenditures within the department.
  • Assesses shift staffing needs consistent with patient mix, census and acuity levels.
  • Sets priorities appropriate to daily patient/physician dynamics.
  • Assures patient acuity classification is completed and accurate, if applicable.
  • Maintains communication and resolves issues regarding shift activities.
  • Coaches and educates staff regarding clinical questions.
  • Retains clinical competency for execution of patient care and serves as a clinical resource for the patient care team.
  • Facilitates multidisciplinary patient care planning and rounding.
  • Collaborates with staff regarding necessary physician notification.
  • Oversees medication barcoding compliance as applicable and monitors staff for compliance.
  • Effectively promotes and maintains the nursing shared governance model.
  • In collaboration with leadership, may be responsible for participating in the completion of performance reviews on assigned staff.
  • Participates in touch base rounding with case management and primary nurse for patient, as appropriate.
  • Administers all aspects of human resource policies including disciplinary action as delegated by leadership.
  • Resolves any patient, family or physician concerns/complaints consistent with organization-wide expectations; knowing when to engage the chain of command.
  • Inputs employees’ timekeeping corrections per policy, as assigned.
  • Participates in creation of monthly schedule; ensures schedules are completed in a timely fashion with staffing balance to meet volume needs and skill levels.
  • Works with designated educator to ensure all levels of nursing skills and competencies are met.
  • Concurrent monitoring and auditing of electronic and computer systems for compliance and correction with appropriate staff member.
  • In collaboration with leadership, ensures staff compliance with required certifications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional $100,000 For Los Angeles Wildfire ReliefLAGUNA BEACH, Calif., Jan. 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The William, Jeff & Jennifer Gross Family Foundation, the charity founded by renowned investor and philanthropist Bill Gross and his son and daughter, announced that it donated $18 million to 61 non-profits and charities in 2024, including to hurricane relief and recovery efforts in North Carolina and Florida.
