Requirements
  • Completion of a one-year college or technical-school certificate in machinist or engineering technology, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Four to five years of medical-device manufacturing-related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Ability to work on hydraulic systems, electrical equipment, and electronic equipment.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, formulas, blueprints, sketches, engineering specifications, and part specifications.
  • Ability to use machinist hand tools, precision measuring instruments, small hand tools, drill presses, grinders, and associated tool-room equipment.
  • Ability to perform shop computations involving dimensions, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
  • Knowledge of ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 sampling standards, quality levels, Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO 13485 regulations, and environmental, health, and safety rules.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and exercise judgment in resolving moderately difficult issues.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair all injection molds.
  • Keep records and maintain databases related to mold maintenance.
  • Coordinate preventive-maintenance work orders and general mold repair and upkeep.
  • Complete assigned work orders and unscheduled mold maintenance and repairs.
  • Interface with production supervisors to coordinate mold repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble injection molds.
  • Make minor repairs to injection molds while they are in the press.
  • Block off discrepant cavities as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot equipment for defective or worn components, install replacements, diagnose failure causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Set up production machines, including hydraulic and ancillary equipment, according to procedures and product specifications.
  • Monitor machinery and process goals during the shift and adjust operations to optimize process performance.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and formulas to determine quality and reliability standards with management or engineering staff.
  • Determine required inspection and testing and acceptable quality levels using ANSI/ASQ Z1.4, part drawings, and specifications.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, repair equipment, or arrange for technical support and assist with repairs.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance in accordance with the preventive-maintenance schedule.
  • Adhere to plant policies, department environmental, health, and safety rules, Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO 13485 regulations, and good-housekeeping procedures.
  • Provide general guidance or technical assistance to less experienced team members.

Cardinal Health forecast fiscal 2027 profit between $12.40 and $12.60 per share, exceeding analyst expectations of $12.04, driven by strong demand for specialty drugs. The US drug distributor's shares rose over 4% in premarket trading. The company's fourth-quarter adjusted profit of $2.91 per share beat estimates of $2.42. However, total revenue of $63.67 billion missed expectations of $65.03 billion. Cardinal Health is benefiting from rising demand for biosimilars and high-margin medicines treating cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, and autoimmune diseases. Its Pharmaceutical and Specialty Solutions unit saw sales increase 6% to $55.4 billion. Last month, Cardinal purchased AdaptHealth's diabetes business and Strive Medical for approximately $360 million combined. The company also announced $1 billion in planned share repurchases for fiscal 2027.

Cardinal Health has agreed to acquire multi-specialty supply company Strive Medical and AdaptHealth's diabetes business for a combined $360 million in cash. The drug distributor said the acquisitions will expand its at-home solutions business, which delivers medical supplies directly to patients. The deals build on Cardinal's recent investments in home care services. The company's at-home unit generated $1.7 billion in revenue during its third quarter this year, helping grow profit by 34% year over year. Cardinal expects the acquisitions to be earnings accretive within a year of closing. AdaptHealth's diabetes unit serves over 225,000 patients annually, primarily delivering continuous glucose monitors.
