BitGo opens Singapore office as Asia Pacific grows.

BitGo opens Singapore office as Asia Pacific grows. Fri, 4th Sep 2026 (Today) BitGo has opened a new office in Singapore, expanding the digital asset company's presence in Asia Pacific. Singapore serves as BitGo's regional hub. The new office comes two years after its local unit received a Major Payment Institution licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Since receiving that licence, BitGo's client base across Asia Pacific has tripled, while headcount in Singapore has more than doubled. Customers in the region include governments, regulated financial institutions, payment service providers, fintechs, digital asset businesses, and high-net-worth and accredited investors. The expansion highlights Singapore's role in BitGo's regional business as digital asset firms continue to seek regulated footholds in Asia. The city-state has positioned itself as a centre for crypto and digital asset activity through a licensing regime that has attracted firms looking for clearer oversight. Singapore is also home to the largest trading desk within BitGo Prime, its institutional trading and financing business. Trading volumes at that desk more than doubled in the first half of 2026 from a year earlier. BitGo Prime connects clients to liquidity through a network of exchanges, market makers, and other providers, alongside the group's custody services. BitGo has been expanding its offering to institutional clients as more traditional financial firms and specialist digital asset investors increase activity in the sector. Angela Ang, Managing Director, APAC and President, BitGo Singapore, said the Singapore operation had become a central part of the group's regional business. "Two years ago, BitGo Singapore received its MPI licence from MAS, and since then, we have built a real home for BitGo in the region," said Angela Ang, Managing Director, APAC and President, BitGo Singapore. "We believe the growth we've seen since then comes down to something simple - institutions across the region are trusting us with more of their business, more often. Our job is to be that steady hand to help our clients navigate the future of finance. As institutional digital asset adoption accelerates across the region, Singapore's regulatory rigor and thriving financial ecosystem provide a strong foundation for BitGo's continued growth in APAC." The office opening will support further hiring in client coverage and business operations roles in Singapore. That suggests BitGo expects demand from institutional clients in the region to remain strong, particularly among groups seeking regulated custody, trading, and settlement services. Regional growth Asia Pacific has become an important market for global digital asset firms as regulators across the region take different approaches to oversight. Singapore has stood out by offering a framework for payment and digital token service providers, giving licensed firms a basis to serve institutional clients from a recognised financial centre. For firms such as BitGo, which focus on custody and market access for institutions rather than retail trading, regulation is key to winning business from banks, asset managers, corporate treasuries, and investment platforms. Its regional customer base now spans both public and private sector organisations. Stefan von Haenisch, Managing Director and Head of BitGo Prime, linked the office opening and trading growth to the company's wider international network. "Singapore puts us where our Asia Pacific clients are and connects them to the same global liquidity network we offer institutions around the world," said Stefan von Haenisch, Managing Director and Head of BitGo Prime. "The growth of the desk here is a reflection of the increasingly important role Asia Pacific plays in BitGo's global business." BitGo is listed in New York and provides services including custody, wallets, staking, trading, financing, stablecoins, and settlement. It said it serves thousands of institutions globally as digital asset infrastructure becomes more closely tied to mainstream financial markets. The Singapore build-out adds to evidence that international crypto and digital asset companies still view the city as one of the region's main bases for regulated institutional activity, even as competition grows from other hubs in Asia and the Middle East.

BitGo Expands MPC Wallet Support to Aptos DEX DecibelTrade.

BitGo Expands MPC Wallet Support to Aptos DEX DecibelTrade. 2026-09-03 23:26:08 Key takeaways. * BitGo expanded MPC wallet connectivity to DecibelTrade, an Aptos-based decentralized exchange supporting spot and perpetual trading. * BitGo institutional clients maintain address whitelisting and multi-party transaction approval controls while accessing DecibelTrade through WalletConnect. * Aptos leadership publicly endorsed the BitGo integration on September 3, highlighting sub-second settlement finality for institutional flow. BitGo expanded wallet connectivity to DecibelTrade, a decentralized exchange built on the Aptos blockchain that supports spot and perpetual futures trading. The integration allows institutional clients to connect self-custody multi-party computation wallets to DecibelTrade through WalletConnect while retaining existing security controls, including address whitelisting and multi-party transaction approvals. The development addresses institutional requirements for custody infrastructure when accessing decentralized finance applications, as traditional financial organizations typically require clearly defined authorization processes and controls over asset movements before adopting digital-asset infrastructure. BitGo Enables MPC Wallet Connection to DecibelTrade via WalletConnect. DecibelTrade provides decentralized trading infrastructure for both spot markets and perpetual contracts. The integration with BitGo enables institutional users to connect their self-custody wallets directly to the platform through WalletConnect, a connection layer between cryptocurrency wallets and decentralized applications. The integration gives institutional clients a way to use BitGo MPC wallets with DecibelTrade while maintaining address whitelisting and multi-party approval controls, combining decentralized trading access with institutional security procedures. Address whitelisting restricts transfers to approved blockchain addresses, while multi-party approvals require multiple authorized participants to confirm transactions. Such safeguards are relevant for institutions managing digital assets, where internal governance and operational controls can be as important as market access. Aptos blockchain adds institutional wallet infrastructure through BitGo integration. Aptos is a Layer-1 blockchain that uses the Move programming language and a consensus architecture designed to support scalable decentralized applications. Its infrastructure has been used for applications across decentralized finance and other digital asset markets. The addition of BitGo wallet support to DecibelTrade adds an institutional-facing component to the Aptos ecosystem. Rather than requiring institutions to move assets into a centralized custody arrangement, the model allows eligible users to retain self-custody through an MPC-based wallet while interacting with decentralized applications. Avery Ching, associated with Aptos, stated on September 3 via social media: "Very excited to trade with our friends at @BitGo." The official Aptos account noted on the same date: "Every order is matched and settled onchain on Aptos, with sub-second finality. That's what makes an onchain venue workable for institutional flow: settlement fast enough and final enough to sit inside an existing approval workflow." MPC wallets provide multi-party approval and address whitelisting controls. Multi-party computation technology distributes control of a wallet across multiple parties or cryptographic components rather than relying on a single private key. This approach reduces the risks associated with concentrating wallet authority in one location while allowing organizations to establish approval requirements before transactions are executed. BitGo's connectivity with DecibelTrade links institutional-grade wallet controls with an Aptos-based decentralized exchange. The integration reflects efforts to make decentralized exchanges more compatible with institutional requirements, where blockchain ecosystems focus on infrastructure that connects institutional users with decentralized applications. While decentralized exchanges provide direct access to blockchain-based markets, institutions generally require additional safeguards to manage operational and counterparty risks. MPC wallets address part of that requirement by distributing transaction authority and supporting configurable approval policies. Faq. What did BitGo announce regarding DecibelTrade? BitGo expanded wallet connectivity to DecibelTrade, a decentralized exchange built on the Aptos blockchain. The integration allows institutional clients to connect self-custody multi-party computation wallets to DecibelTrade through WalletConnect while retaining security controls including address whitelisting and multi-party transaction approvals. How do MPC wallets work with DecibelTrade? Multi-party computation technology distributes control of a wallet across multiple parties or cryptographic components rather than relying on a single private key. BitGo MPC wallets connect to DecibelTrade via WalletConnect, allowing institutional users to access decentralized spot and perpetual trading while maintaining approval requirements and address whitelisting controls. DTCC partners with BitGo to launch digital asset infrastructure for tokenized US Treasuries and equities.

DTCC partners with BitGo to launch digital asset infrastructure for tokenized US Treasuries and equities. The financial world's central plumbing system just went onchain, with BitGo providing wallet infrastructure for settlement of tokenized securities 2 hours ago Sponsored: CryptoSlots - Cryptoslots Play now! The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation, the entity that quietly processes virtually every stock and bond trade in America, has taken its most consequential step into blockchain-based infrastructure. On July 15, DTCC's subsidiary The Depository Trust Company successfully converted eligible US Treasuries and equities into tokenized digital twins, with BitGo Bank & Trust serving as the custodian handling settlement and movement of those assets onchain. What actually happened on July 15. The milestone was part of DTCC's broader Tokenization Service, which converts traditional financial instruments into blockchain-native representations while maintaining their legal and economic properties. The July trades focused on repo and reverse repo workflows, the short-term lending markets where institutions borrow against Treasuries as collateral. Over 30 firms participated in the pilot, and the roster reads like a who's who of global finance. BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, and J.P. Morgan were among the institutions testing the interoperability and operational capabilities of the new system. BitGo holds a distinctive role in the arrangement. The company is the only OCC-regulated full-service qualified custodian integrated with the DTCC Tokenization Service. In practical terms, that means BitGo is the entity responsible for holding and moving the tokenized assets when trades settle, a function that requires both the technical capability to manage onchain wallets and the regulatory standing to custody institutional-grade securities. The official, full-scale launch of the DTC Tokenization Service is planned for October 2026. The path to this moment. This partnership didn't materialize overnight. In December 2025, the organization partnered with Digital Asset for tokenization on the Canton Network, laying groundwork for interoperable digital asset infrastructure across multiple blockchain environments. By May 2026, DTCC confirmed BitGo's involvement alongside more than 50 industry participants in the broader tokenization initiative. The July pilot narrowed the focus to live trades with real assets, proving the system works under actual market conditions rather than in sandboxed test environments. What this means for markets. The October launch will be a defining moment for institutional adoption of tokenized assets. When the entity that clears nearly all US securities transactions officially supports tokenized versions of those same instruments, it removes one of the biggest objections institutional players have had: counterparty and infrastructure risk. The risk to watch is execution. Moving from a 30-firm pilot to full production across the entire DTC ecosystem is a massive scaling challenge. Settlement failures in repo markets don't just cause inconvenience; they can trigger cascading liquidity problems. Disclosure: This article was edited by Editorial Team.
