3M, the company known for Post-it notes and Scotch tape, has developed expanded beam optical connectivity technology that helps data centre operators deploy fibre-optic networks faster for AI workloads. The technology saves 85% of installation time by spreading light across a wider surface, making connections more resistant to dust and vibrations.
