Requirements
  • Strong experience in financial analysis and general understanding of capital structures
  • Strong initiative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; well organized
  • Intermediate level experience with Excel (Index/Match, Sumifs, V-look ups, Pivot Tables etc.)
  • At least three years of professional accounting/finance experience
  • Solid understanding of insurance accounting, including an appreciation of the differences between GAAP and statutory accounting
  • Experience in reviewing capital structures
  • Proficiency in successfully utilizing databases, tracking tools, and financial software applications
  • A degree from a 4-year accredited university/college in one of the following degree programs: Bachelors or Masters in: Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business
Responsibilities
  • Creating financial models and assessing capital structure choices. Compiling and analyzing financial data (historical and projected)
  • Preparing competitor analysis
  • Helping to systematize and support the evaluation of proprietary, rating agency and regulatory capital requirements
  • Developing strong subject matter expertise relating to catastrophe risk and its implications for capital planning
  • Driving process improvement in capital and risk reporting
