Requirements
  • At least 5 years of combined relevant work experience in Capacity modeling, management, and analytics roles
  • Deep familiarity with key cloud infrastructure and their related capacity metrics, including a deep understanding and experience with compute and storage
  • 2+ years of experience managing a team of technically inclined professionals and experience working in a cross-functional/matrix environment with many stakeholders
  • Experience with developing budgets and business cases related to cloud and storage technologies (e.g., capex requirements)
  • Experience finding creative solutions to time-sensitive analytical problems
  • The ability to manage multiple projects/tasks with differing deadlines
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the forecasting for all key Capacity and Usage metrics, including overseeing usage buffers
  • Work with Finance, Infrastructure, and Product on developing business cases for deploying additional Capex/expansions
  • Work with a team of data scientists and capacity modelers to build out long-term forecasts for data centers and translate this into budget recommendations
  • Provide longer-term insights into future strategy including issues like site selection, research and analysis for new markets, and replacing existing equipment
  • Monitor, manage, and investigate daily capacity changes, working with stakeholders to ensure staying ahead of any issues
  • Apprentice an existing team of capacity modelers and planners to continuously improve forecasting, automation, and tooling
