Hypertherm Associates designs and manufactures cutting systems for industrial use, including plasma, waterjet, and laser technologies sold through OEMs, distributors, and system integrators with a global presence in 65+ countries. Its cutting systems use energy in three forms: plasma creates an electrical arc to melt and blow away metal; waterjet uses a high-pressure water jet, sometimes with abrasive, to cut materials; and laser focuses a beam to melt or vaporize along a cut path. The company distinguishes itself through a strong leadership team, continuous product and process improvements, and a global service network with high-quality assembly and testing in clean facilities. Its goal is to deliver reliable, productive cutting solutions that reduce downtime and expand its international reach.

Hypertherm Associates has launched HySpeed technology for its Powermax SYNC plasma cutting systems, enabling laser-like cutting speeds of up to 1,400 inches per minute on thin mild steel. The technology works with Powermax45, 65, 85, and 105 SYNC models. HySpeed combines optimised CAM nesting, intelligent torch motion, faster cutting speeds, and advanced gas management to reduce cut-to-cut time. The system minimises torch retract time and optimises travel paths whilst allowing gas bleed-down during torch movement between pierce locations. The technology is particularly effective for thin mild steel ranging from 26 gauge to 3/16 inch. It integrates with Hypertherm's ProNest nesting software and EDGE Connect CNC with Phoenix software. Hypertherm Associates manufactures industrial cutting products and software for the shipbuilding, aerospace, and construction industries.
Hypertherm Associates has launched the Hyamp cartridge, adapter and retrofit torch for its Powermax125 plasma cutting system. The new single-piece cartridge design integrates all consumable elements, eliminating the complexity of traditional five-piece setups that require specific assembly order. The technology features colour-coding and clear markings to reduce training time and help operators switch between cutting, gouging and FlushCut applications. The retrofit torch offers a smaller, lighter design that reduces operator fatigue and simplifies integration in mechanised cutting processes. The launch allows existing Powermax125 customers to adopt the latest cartridge technology without replacing their current plasma systems. Hypertherm Associates, founded in 1968, is a US-based manufacturer of industrial cutting systems employing approximately 2,000 people worldwide.
Hypertherm launches Hyamp(TM) Cartridge, Adapter and Torch Option for powermax125(r). July 29, 2026, 00:00 GMT New technology brings simplicity and enhanced ergonomics to operators Hyamp Cartridge, Adapter and Torch Option New technology brings simplicity and enhanced ergonomics to operators HANOVER, NH, UNITED STATES, July 29, 2026 / EINPresswire.com / - Hypertherm Associates, a U.S.-based leading manufacturer of industrial cutting systems and software, has announced the launch of its new Hyamp(TM) cartridge, adapter and cartridge retrofit torch for Powermax125 (R) users. The new Hyamp cartridge brings the proven benefits of Hypertherm cartridge technology, with easier consumable identification, faster installation, and broader application versatility to the Powermax125 plasma cutting system. Its single-piece design, color-coding, and clear markings reduce training time and help operators switch between cutting, gouging, and FlushCut(TM) with confidence. Designed for heavy-use cutting applications and thick metal fabrication, the new Hyamp cartridge is a single-piece consumable that enhances the simplicity and performance of the Powermax plasma cutting system. The launch includes both cartridge-compatible retrofit torches and adapter options, providing multiple pathways for existing customers to adopt the latest cartridge technology without replacing their current plasma systems. In addition, plasma cutting is simplified to reduce setup errors and streamline operator training. Unlike traditional five-piece consumable stack-ups that require a specific order arrangement, the Hyamp cartridge integrates all consumable elements into a pre-assembled, single-piece design. The patented approach eliminates the complexity and guesswork associated with consumable changes and reduces the risk of incorrect assembly that can negatively impact overall system performance. For operators, this design means faster changeouts, less downtime, and more consistent results. It also streamlines training for new employees, helping shops maintain productivity even as experienced operators retire and the skilled labor shortage continues. Furthermore, the new cartridge retrofit torch enhances usability by providing a smaller, lighter design for Powermax125 customers. For manual cutting applications, the improved ergonomics help reduce operator fatigue and enhance comfort during extended use, while in mechanized cutting processes, the slimmer torch profile simplifies integration and, in many cases, eliminates the need for expensive mounting brackets. The launch underscores Hypertherm's commitment to its customers by extending the value of their existing equipment. By bringing a single-piece cartridge design to more plasma users, the company makes the latest advancements in plasma technology available to customers without making a large capital investment. "Powermax125 remains the most capable air plasma system in its class," said Ed Johnson, Product Manager at Hypertherm. "With the new Hyamp cartridge, customers can take advantage of our single-piece design while continuing to rely on the performance and durability that have made the system a trusted industry standard."
