ACLU of Washington advances civil rights and civil liberties in Washington state by engaging in legal cases, policy advocacy, and community education. It uses lawsuits, legislative lobbying, and grassroots organizing to protect and expand basic rights for all residents, working in courts, state and local government, and communities. It is powered by more than a million members and volunteers and does not take government funds, relying on member donations and volunteers to drive its work.
