Meet the new ASICS SportStyle Sensory Bloom Collection: where style meets sensation.

Meet the new ASICS SportStyle Sensory Bloom Collection: where style meets sensation. ASICS SportStyle is proud to introduce a landmark partnership with Anna Sawai, award-winning actress, former J-pop performer, and one of the most compelling cultural voices of her generation, to unveil its new Sensory Bloom Collection. It marks an exciting new chapter for the brand, uniting ASICS SportStyle's spirit of movement with an ambassador who embodies it in every sense. Best known internationally for her lead role in award-winning films, Sawai has rapidly established herself as a global force, with more big Hollywood credits to come. Fluent in both English and Japanese, the Japanese-New Zealand actress represents a modern, cross-cultural voice that resonates emotionally across borders. Move your body, move your mind. The campaign puts movement at its core, something Anna understands deeply as an actor, dancer and yoga practitioner. Anna showcases many of these skills and more in the main campaign video, which unfolds as a playful cinematic short where Anna and her stunt double find themselves locked in an escalating series of on-set duels. The result is a witty, energetic, sense-activating film that reflects the nature of the collection. The Sensory Bloom Collection. This is a range designed for those who want to feel as much as they see. Softly formed materials and marbleized textures, luminous colourways and tactile detailing combine to create footwear that grounds you in sensation with every step. At the heart of the collection is the iconic GEL-CUMULUS(TM) 16 shoe, a beloved silhouette originally launched in 2014, now reimagined through a sensory lens. Glossy overlays, translucent mesh, and responsive cushioning bring a modern sensory experience to a classic form, while dual GEL(TM) technology inserts, FLYTEFOAM(TM) and FLUIDRIDE(TM) technology deliver the soft, responsive comfort the model has always been known for. Joining it is the newly introduced HYPERSYNC(TM) shoe, a bold new model sculpted for movement. Drawing from archival ASICS wrestling and track & field footwear, the HYPERSYNC(TM) blends the precision of track spikes with the low-profile structure of wrestling shoes. Textured patent leather overlays, decorative stitching, breathable mesh, and logo detailing give the shoe a premium, engineered finish. Light, structured, and built for those who move with intent. The ASICS SportStyle Sensory Bloom Collection is available now at Superbalist, Bash, Office London, Shelflife and Lemkus, ranging from R2,599.90 to R2,999.90 Supplied by: ASICS. Guzzle Media

The most popular triathlon kit: is your bike, wetsuit and shoe choice on the list?

The most popular triathlon kit: is your bike, wetsuit and shoe choice on the list? 11 July 2026 / 07:00 BST 10 July 2026 / 13:14 BST Choosing new triathlon kit often means relying on reviews, recommendations and plenty of anecdotal advice. Now, a new study has provided a data-led snapshot of what athletes are actually using on race day, revealing the most popular brands across bikes, wetsuits, wheels and running shoes. While the pros grab headlines with cutting-edge bikes, prototype equipment and the latest carbon-plated shoes, a new study has revealed the kit choices dominating the age-group field. Analysing the equipment used by 1,800 triathletes at the Outlaw Triathlon Series, the research reveals the brands most commonly found in transition, from the wetsuits swimmers trust to the bikes carrying athletes through the longest section of the race. So, is your kit part of the triathlon crowd, or are you racing against the trend? The wetsuit brand dominating the swim. Huub emerged as the most popular wetsuit choice among Outlaw competitors. The British brand has long been a familiar name in triathlon, with previous 220 Triathlon testing highlighting the Huub Aegis X 3:3 as one of the most recommended wetsuits. Zone3, Raceskin, and Speedo rounded out the most popular wetsuits, with DHB, Orca, and Blue70 also spotted on the start line. Who's leading the bike race? While Canyon may dominate the headlines at the professional level thanks to athletes such as Sam Laidlow breaking Challenge Roth records, Giant/Liv proved the most popular choice among Outlaw competitors. By a healthy margin, too - Giant/Liv won the bike race, with a 19.4% share. Trek was second, followed by Canyon, Specialized, Planet X, and Cube. Behind Giant/Liv dominating the bikes, it is no surprise the Taiwanese company also ride away with the most popular wheel brand. Finally, which shoes are taking people to the finish line? Despite Adidas' recent success at the elite level, Asics was the most popular running shoe brand among Outlaw competitors, followed by Adidas, Hoka and Saucony. With triathlon stars including Flora Duffy, Sam Long, Hayden Wilde and Lucy Charles-Barclay racing in Asics footwear, it's perhaps no surprise that age-group athletes are keen to follow in their footsteps. Completing the top 10 were Nike, Brooks, New Balance, On, Puma, Mizuno and Topo. The data was collected through manual recording in transition areas pre-event, supported by teams identifying brands across key categories during live racing. To help ensure credibility and robustness, Outlaw said they worked alongside Loughborough University Triathlon Club to support validation and analysis of the dataset and the research was supported by Core Collagen. So, are you a triathlon trendsetter or part of the majority? The answer depends on what's sitting in your transition bag. Lead image credit: Outlaw Triathon indiapaine

The new ASICS metafuji(tm) trail 2 has arrived: more speed for body & mind.

The new ASICS metafuji(tm) trail 2 has arrived: more speed for body & mind. Release Date: 10 Jul 2026 | Kobe, Japan The pinnacle trail racing franchise from ASICS evolves with next-generation speed and evolved cushioning, tested by elite athletes at the highest level of the sport. [Kobe, Japan, 10 July 2026] - ASICS today unveils the METAFUJI(TM) TRAIL 2 shoe, the latest evolution of its pinnacle trail racing franchise. Designed for elite trail racing performance, the shoe combines advanced cushioning technologies with an updated trail-specific carbon plate construction to help runners move faster and more confidently across the most demanding terrains. Developed and tested alongside elite ASICS trail athletes, including Tom Evans and Ben Dhiman, the METAFUJI(TM) TRAIL 2 shoe has already proven its credentials on one of the sport's biggest stages. During one of the world's most prestigious trail running events in Chamonix in 2025, Evans and Dhiman wore an early prototype version of the shoe to secure an unforgettable one-two finish for ASICS, with Evans taking victory and Dhiman crossing the line in second place. Their performances and feedback played a key role in shaping the final product, marking the METAFUJI(TM) TRAIL 2 shoe as the next chapter of speed innovation for ASICS trail running. At the core of the METAFUJI(TM) TRAIL 2 shoe is an updated trail-specific carbon plate construction featuring a new x-shaped design engineered to enhance propulsion on climbs while maintaining confidence and control on descents. Positioned between responsive layers of foam, the plate works in harmony with the shoe's cushioning system to create a fast, smooth and highly energized ride experience. The updated midsole features a top layer of FF LEAP(TM) foam, ASICS' lightest and bounciest foam, paired with FF BLAST(TM) PLUS cushioning under the carbon plate to deliver lightweight comfort and responsiveness across demanding trail terrain. This works alongside an ASICSGRIP(TM) outsole with 3.5mm lugs for advanced traction and a SOLYTE(TM) sockliner for added step-in comfort, helping runners maintain speed and confidence across ultra-distance efforts. Susan Hoddinott-Au, Product Development, Performance Running Footwear at ASICS, said: "With the METAFUJI(TM) TRAIL 2 shoe, our ambition was to continue pushing the boundaries of what speed can feel like on the trails, without compromising cushioning, grip or control. Every design decision was centred around helping athletes move confidently and efficiently across highly technical terrain, whether climbing or descending. Working closely with Tom Evans and Ben Dhiman throughout the development process gave us invaluable insights at the highest level of the sport, and seeing the athletes achieve a one-two finish while wearing the prototype validated the direction we were taking. That athlete feedback ultimately helped shape the final product you see today." Following its breakthrough prototype performances in 2025, the METAFUJI(TM) TRAIL 2 shoe will officially debut at one of the world's most iconic 100-mile trail races on July 10, 2026, with Tom Evans taking to the start line in the final production model. Tom Evans, ASICS athlete and elite ultra-marathoner, said: "I've been training and racing in the METAFUJI(TM) TRAIL 2 prototype for a while now, so to achieve those results in the shoe was already an incredibly special moment for both the team and the product. What stood out to me immediately was the combination of speed and cushioning - it feels light and propulsive on the climbs, but still comfortable and controlled deep into long technical efforts. I'm excited to officially race in the METAFUJI(TM) TRAIL 2 shoe again this summer and continue racing in it throughout the season as I take on some of the biggest trail events in the world." Retaining the bold visual identity that defines the METAFUJI(TM) franchise, the METAFUJI(TM) TRAIL 2 shoe reflects the fast, dynamic experience underfoot through its sculpted geometry and performance-led design language. The METAFUJI(TM) TRAIL 2 shoe will be available globally from August 1 2026 for $250. To find out more, please visit www.asics.com
