Overview

AVANCE - Austin runs two-generation education programs that help families break the cycle of poverty. Its core is a nine-month Parent-Child Education Program for parents and children aged 0-3, with bilingual group sessions, home visits, and hands-on activities that foster early learning and parenting skills; it also offers programs like AVANCE to College, ESL, and career and financial literacy services. The program combines parent empowerment with child development, and uses home visitation and evidence-based methods to advance school readiness and parent outcomes. Its goal is to reduce poverty by improving parenting, expanding educational opportunities, and increasing employment and college access for families.
