Overview

The Academy of Medical Sciences is the UK’s independent national body that advances biomedical and health research to benefit society. It operates through a Fellowship of about 1,600 leading scientists and uses grants, career development programs, and a national mentoring scheme to support researchers, inform policy, and connect science with decision-makers. It provides independent, evidence-based policy advice and facilitates collaboration among academia, the NHS, industry, and policymakers.
