Acadia announces new chief executive officer. Acadia is pleased to welcome Debbie Osteen as its new chief executive officer. Ms. Osteen previously served as Acadia's CEO from December 2018 to March 2022, during which time she led the company through a period of significant progress and evolution, stewarding its strategic vision and overseeing significant growth. Ms. Osteen has also been reappointed to the company's board of directors, on which she previously served until 2024. Ms. Osteen has held multiple esteemed leadership positions throughout her career, including executive vice president of Universal Health Services, Inc. and president of UHS' behavioral health division.
Acadia to pay $179 million. Acadia Healthcare agreed to pay $179 million to settle a class action lawsuit that alleged securities fraud. The settlement will include a release "with no admission or finding of liability by Acadia or any of its former or current officers". The company faced major lawsuits in the past, paying $405 million then $400 million.
The Jason Foundation (JFI), Acadia Healthcare, and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) have partnered to launch Coaching Minds Changing Lives (CMCL), a groundbreaking initiative designed to equip coaches, athletic personnel, and colleges with resources to support student-athletes facing mental health or substance use challenges.
