Darksiders Genesis and ruined king makers Airship Syndicate reveals Kickstarter for new isometric action game, DUST: Origins. - Jun 26, 2026 at 02:39pm EDT Airship Syndicate is a studio that you'll likely recognize for Darksiders Genesis, or its most recent outing, the co-op action RPG Wayfinder, but whatever you recognize the name from, the studio has officially revealed its next title. DUST: Origins is a new isometric action game that Airship Syndicate is developing, and the studio is about to launch a Kickstarter for it. The Kickstarter officially begins on July 28, 2026, so there's still some time before it kicks off (pun intended). In the meantime, Airship Syndicate released a very intriguing teaser trailer that helps to establish the dark tone of the game and its world. This also won't be the last Wccf Tech Inc see of the game from now until the start of its Kickstarter campaign, as the studio will showcase more gameplay, art, and design commentary as Wccf Tech Inc get closer to July 28. For now, however, you can check out the teaser trailer below. It'll be interesting to see more of DUST: Origins as Wccf Tech Inc get closer to the launch of its Kickstarter campaign. Joe Madureira, Airship Syndicate's studio head and a renowned comic and games artist, along with the rest of the Airship Syndicate team are all very talented, but Wayfinder was not able to find its footing after it launched in 2024. In Wccftech's review of Wayfinder at launch, Wccf Tech Inc gave it a 6.5/10, celebrating its combat systems and overall fun gameplay, but marking it down for not being able to stand out as a new action RPG on the scene. "There was nothing that stood out from the game, and the story didn't particularly grab me. The main selling point for me was the combat and dungeon-crawling, which was quite fun. However, Wayfinder still needs some work to give it that extra sparkle." Hopefully, DUST: Origins won't have the same problems. David started contributing as Canada/US reporter for Wccftech's gaming section in 2025. Besides being up-to-date on the industry's movements, he loves interviewing developers, reviewing games, and writing intricate essays about the symbolism and layered meanings to be found in rich narratives as he's done for publications like GamesIndustry.Biz, LostInCult, and others. Outside of games he loves movies, music, theatre, his hometown, and his family, though not necessarily in that order. Follow Wccftech on Google to get more of its news coverage in your feeds.
DUST Origins announced by Airship Syndicate, and it looks like sci-fi horror. From The Outerhaven Productions (Written by Keith Mitchell) on June 26, 2026 | OpenCritic Airship Syndicate has revealed its next project, DUST: Origins, a handcrafted sci-fi action game from the team behind Battle Chasers: Nightwar, Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, Wayfinder, and several of the minds connected to the Darksiders franchise. The studio, led by comic and game artist Joe Madureira, revealed DUST: Origins today with a new teaser trailer and a Coming Soon page on Kickstarter. The full campaign has not launched yet, but Airship Syndicate is already using the page to build up interest ahead of time. The official launch will be July 28, 2026, so be sure to check back in a month. DUST: Origins is set aboard an orbital prison station that is falling apart. After being abruptly freed from cryo-prison, players will have to fight their way through a murderer's row of violent criminals and horrifying monsters before the station tears itself apart. The studio is tagging the project with a pretty fitting line: "No saints. Only survivors... Available Now Upcoming Releases 2026 Hall of Fame
TLDR: Airship Syndicate, the developer behind Wayfinder, has laid off 16 employees as part of a restructuring effort.
The folks at Airship Syndicate are partnering up with Critical Role to release a supporter pack for Wayfinder.
Last week, Airship Syndicate announced that the Wayfinder: Echoes update would soon be available on PlayStation 5, along with a return to sale on the platform.
