Overview

Albany Medical Center is a major health system in northeastern New York that combines a 766-bed hospital, Albany Medical College, and a large physician practice. It delivers comprehensive clinical care—emergency and trauma services, pediatric care, ICUs, organ transplants—and offers education and biomedical research through its college and research enterprise. The system operates the region’s busiest emergency and trauma center and runs a large medical education and training program, graduating hundreds of doctors and allied health professionals each year. Its model links patient care, education, and research under one not-for-profit, regionally governed umbrella, Albany Med Health System.
