Almirall secures exclusive rights outside mainland China for CrystalO dermatology programme. (IN BRIEF) Almirall has entered into a collaboration and licensing agreement with CrystalO for the discovery and development of novel small molecules in medical dermatology. Under the agreement, CrystalO will handle candidate discovery, optimisation, IND-enabling studies and early clinical development, with the goal of achieving clinical proof of concept. Almirall will hold exclusive rights outside mainland China and will lead later-stage global development, manufacturing and commercialisation. The collaboration supports Almirall's strategy to strengthen its medical dermatology pipeline through external innovation, strategic partnerships and access to complementary R&D capabilities. (PRESS RELEASE) BARCELONA, 11-Aug-2026 - /EuropaWire/ - Almirall has entered into a collaboration and licensing agreement with CrystalO, a Chinese company focused on drug discovery, to identify and develop novel small molecules for use in medical dermatology. The partnership supports Almirall's broader innovation strategy, which includes identifying promising local research and development programmes that can complement the company's internal scientific capabilities. The agreement also reflects Almirall's continued focus on advancing differentiated treatments in dermatology, particularly in areas where patients continue to face significant unmet medical needs. Through strategic partnerships and scientific collaboration, Almirall aims to strengthen its pipeline and accelerate the development of new therapeutic options for skin conditions. Under the terms of the agreement, CrystalO will be responsible for candidate discovery, optimisation, IND-enabling studies and early clinical development. The objective is to advance selected candidates to clinical proof of concept. Almirall will hold exclusive rights outside mainland China. The company will also lead subsequent global development, manufacturing and commercialisation activities for the programme. Almirall builds on biologics as first-half earnings climb. 24 July 2026 Spanish medical dermatology company Almirall (BME: ALM) has reported first-half 2026 net sales of 602.7 million euros ($687.1 million), up 7.5% year on year, with profits rising far faster than the top line. Net income jumped 49.4% to 39.6 million euros, while core earnings, or EBITDA, climbed 23.7% to 150.7 million euros. Growth was led by the European dermatology business, where sales rose 18.1% to 341.9 million euros. The biologics portfolio did much of the heavy lifting. Atopic dermatitis treatment Ebglyss (lebrikizumab) nearly doubled to 84.5 million euros, up 88.2%, and plaque psoriasis drug Ilumetri (tildrakizumab) grew 10.5% to 125.2 million euros. Almirall H1 sales grow 7.5% to $675M, EBITDA rises 23.7% on dermatology strength

Almirall reported solid first-half 2026 results, with net sales growing 7.5% year-on-year to €602.7 million and EBITDA increasing 23.7% to €150.7 million. The Barcelona-based pharmaceutical company's European dermatology business drove growth, rising 18.1% to €341.9 million. The biologics portfolio performed strongly, with Ebglyss growing 88.2% to €84.5 million and Ilumetri increasing 10.5% to €125.2 million in net sales. Other products, including Wynzora and Klisyri, also showed positive performance. Almirall advanced its innovation strategy with four ongoing phase II studies and plans to initiate two additional studies by year-end. The company signed a research collaboration with Certest Biotec to develop treatments for rare dermatologic diseases. The company reiterated its full-year 2026 guidance of 9–12% growth and €270–290 million EBITDA.
