Alterion

Alterion

Enterprise AI agent operations and security

Overview

Alterion provides a control plane for operating and securing AI agents at scale, focused on enterprises. It helps enterprises discover, register, monitor health and performance, and manage AI agents through Agent Operations, while Agent Security enforces centralized identity and authorization, policy and governance with least-privilege principles, and automated audit trails for reporting. The platform differentiates itself by combining real-time agent monitoring with strong governance and security controls tailored to AI agents, rather than generic IT tooling. The goal is to allow organizations to deploy, manage, and audit AI agents safely, compliantly, and at scale.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Draco is available today for enterprise customers, enabling immediate revenue conversion.
  • Aquila targets the growing shadow-AI problem on employee devices, expanding Alterion's addressable market.
  • The OpenAI x Hugging Face incident strengthens demand for runtime AI governance in 2026.

What critics are saying

  • $5.8 million seed funding from December 2025 limits hiring and sales runway.
  • Microsoft, Google, and security incumbents can bundle agent governance into existing enterprise stacks.
  • If enterprises standardize on vendor-native controls, Alterion's standalone control plane loses relevance fast.

What makes Alterion unique

  • Draco launched July 16, 2026 as a runtime control plane for enterprise AI agents.
  • Aquila launched August 18, 2026 and extends policy enforcement to employee endpoints.
  • Alterion combines agent operations, security, and endpoint governance across clouds, vendors, and devices.

Alterion launches Aquila to govern AI use on employee devices

Alterion has launched Aquila, a solution designed to help enterprises govern AI usage on employee devices. The platform addresses a growing blind spot as developers and employees increasingly use coding assistants, browser-based AI tools, and local AI applications outside traditional cloud-based controls. Aquila enforces policy at the device level, inspecting AI-driven actions and data before they leave employee endpoints. The solution operates across three layers: enforcing an approved-tools allowlist, preventing sensitive data from leaving in AI requests, and discovering AI activity outside sanctioned tools. The platform extends Alterion's Draco runtime control plane from cloud systems to endpoints, enabling security, risk, compliance, and engineering teams to author and enforce AI policy across all enterprise environments. Aquila is available today for enterprise customers.

Alterion launches Draco runtime control platform for enterprise AI agents

Alterion has launched Draco, a runtime control platform for enterprise AI agents. The San Francisco-based company's platform provides real-time visibility and governance over AI agents operating across clouds, vendors, and endpoints without requiring code changes. Draco addresses a gap in enterprise AI deployment by sitting between AI agents and infrastructure as a dedicated runtime control layer. It observes every prompt and action in real time, models agent behaviour, and applies programmable guardrails to enforce policy before agents perform high-risk actions. The platform is designed for organisations in highly regulated environments, helping them comply with frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 42001, and the EU AI Act. Alterion was founded by Alharith Hussin, a former McKinsey Partner, and Asim Husain, a former Google Engineering VP.
