PTC has launched a direct integration between its cloud-native Onshape CAD platform and Altium, enabling real-time collaboration between electrical and mechanical engineering teams. The connector brings printed circuit board designs from Altium directly into Onshape, eliminating manual file exchanges and version mismatches. The integration operates entirely in the cloud, automatically synchronising changes between platforms and enabling teams to identify design problems earlier. Engineers can verify circuit board fit within enclosures before issues become costly, whilst version control maintains detailed histories in both systems. The connector requires no software installation and allows stakeholders to review designs from any browser. PTC says the integration advances its vision for the Intelligent Product Lifecycle by enabling manufacturers to accelerate AI-driven transformation and bring higher-quality products to market faster.

Don Cantow appointed as General Manager of Altium.
