Amadeus Ventures has made a minority investment in Hivr.ai, a German startup founded in 2020 that uses AI to automate hotel meetings and group sales processes. This investment aims to enhance hotel revenue by addressing the low confirmation rate of meeting requests. Amadeus is also exploring collaboration opportunities to integrate Hivr.ai's technology with its hotel clients. This aligns with Amadeus Ventures' focus on innovative AI solutions in the hospitality sector.
Amadeus has acquired B2B payments specialist Voxel for approximately €118 million. Spain-based Voxel provides electronic invoice and B2B payments services to travel suppliers including hotels.The acquisition supports “Amadeus’ vision to deliver a smooth travel payment experience. It will also complement Amadeus’ payments business, Outpayce, by enhancing its existing travel sellers’ product suite, while expanding in the hospitality segment,” the company said in statement.Amadeus unveiled its Outpayce payments business just over a year ago and applied to the Bank of Spain for an e-license covering Europe at the time
Amadeus has acquired biometric technology specialist Vision-Box for €320 million. The acquisition brings border control and other biometric access solutions to Amadeus, widening its capabilities to offer services from traveler booking to border control and boarding.In a statement Amadeus said the acquisition of Portugal-based Vision-Box furthers its “ambition to connect the travel industry through a seamless ecosystem approach.”It points to research from Biometrics Research Group that revealed that the global biometrics sector is estimated to grow to $86 billion by 2028 from $48 billion last year.Employees from Vision-Box, totaling 470, are expected to move to Amadeus and the transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2024. The company is expected to make €70 million in revenue in 2023 with almost €20 million in EBITDA
