Overview

Ambition Prep is a tuition-free public charter school in Jackson, Mississippi, serving kindergarten through eighth grade with a plan to add a high school. It provides college-preparatory education through high-quality instruction, intensive academic support, and a focus on self-discipline, with nearly three hours daily literacy and 120 minutes math, plus enrichment in music, art, and physical education. The school uses a two-teacher model for small-group instruction, maintains low student-to-teacher ratios, and includes character education with Scholar Dollars earned for core values. It is publicly funded and supplemented by donations, offers free meals via the CEP, and provides before- and after-care; its goal is to prepare all students for college and life success and to expand to ninth grade in 2027 as Jackson's first charter high school.
