By Nick Wakeman , Editor-in-Chief, Washington Technology September 3, 2026 03:02 PM ET The deal bulks up Xpect's national security portfolio, as the NewSpring-backed company builds out its mission tech stack. Xpect Solutions is adding artificial intelligence, automation, software development and other mission-focused capabilities through the acquisition of Amivero. The company didn't disclose the financial terms of the deal. The addition of Amivero is another step for NewSpring Holdings backed Xpect to build a technology company focused on the national security market. "Xpect's strategy has always been about building the capabilities our customers need to solve their most important mission challenges," said Yusuf Abdul-Salaam, CEO of Xpect Solutions. Xpect's strategy has focused on four technical disciplines: enterprise IT, cybersecurity, digital modernization, and data and AI. Amivero adds complementary capabilities and customer relationships. Its expertise includes AI and automation, fraud operations, digital identity and software development will be added to Xpect's strengths in network modernization, zero trust, cyber operations, physical security, cloud, DevSecOps and mission-focused data solutions. Together, the company will accelerate research and development and investment in repeatable solutions to help federal customers modernize and scale mission-critical systems, Xpect said in its announcement. Over the last year, Xpect has pulled in $40 million in unclassified prime contracts. Its biggest customer is the FBI, according to USASpending.gov. Amivero had about $32 million in unclassified prime contracts. Much of its work goes through the General Services Administration. The Homeland Security Department is its next biggest customer.
