Ardian acquires a stake in Kapten & Son, a leading german brand for accessories and lifestyle products
Ardian purchases a 73MW wind portfolio in the Nordics. Ardian has acquired a portfolio of three operational wind farms totaling 73.2MW in Sweden and Finland through its fully-owned Enordic Evergreen platform. The private investment firm reported that the assets were obtained from an investment vehicle managed by the German firm KGAL. According to Ardian, this acquisition through its Clean Energy Evergreen Fund (ACEEF) raises the renewable energy capacity of the Enordic Evergreen platform to 350MW. Two of the wind farms are situated in the SE3 electricity pricing zone in southern Sweden, while the third is located in Finland. All three projects utilize top-tier turbines and benefit from positive market dynamics, including an increasing electricity demand from data centers. This deal follows Ardian's earlier acquisition of a 62MW wind farm in Sweden from ERG this year. Ardian intends to use its proprietary OPTA data analytics platform to enhance asset performance, in addition to leveraging operational expertise and cost efficiencies across the Enordic Evergreen portfolio. Launched in early 2022 with €1.0bn in capital and a 1GW portfolio, ACEEF has increased its renewable energy capacity by around 60% to 1.6GW across five platforms. The open-ended fund makes global investments with a primary focus on Europe, aiming for projects with environmental goals as outlined in Article 9 of the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation. Enordic Evergreen operates as a wholly ACEEF-owned Nordic independent power producer concentrated on long-term renewable energy investments. Ardian currently oversees over 10GW of clean energy capacity across Europe and the Americas through its infrastructure funds. Ardian's managing director of infrastructure, Federico Gotti Tedeschi, stated: "Ardian's renewables strategy is characterized by a selective and disciplined investment approach, and this portfolio aligns perfectly with that vision. "With the rising electricity demand, particularly driven by the rapid growth of data centers, the Nordic energy market is entering a transformative phase. "This acquisition represents a strategic advantage for ACEEF and complements Ardian's broader renewable energy initiatives." Timo Pohjakallio, CEO of Enordic Evergreen, commented: "This investment adds three complementary and competitive wind farms to its portfolio, strengthening its position in its primary operating region. "We are excited to utilize our fleet management capabilities and industrial expertise to integrate these assets into our operations and further develop them."
