Armaments Research Company

AI-powered firearm sensors for battlefield telemetry

Overview

ARC develops AI-powered sensors embedded in firearm grips to turn weapons into networked data devices. The sensors timestamp use events (draw, aim, fire) and geolocate the weapon, with edge processing on-device and data sent to command-and-control systems for near real-time insights. This supports faster responses, improved inventory control, predictive maintenance, and training through after-action reviews, and data can be fused with other battlefield sources for joint operations. ARC differentiates itself by weapon-centric sensing and on-device AI that integrates with SBIR-funded DoD programs and JADC2 workflows.

ARC wins $4.7M Army contract to integrate AI weapon sensors into live training

Armaments Research Company has secured a $4.7 million contract with the US Army's Capability Program Executive Simulation, Training, Test and Threat to integrate AI-enabled weapon sensors into live collective training environments. The 12-month project will provide soldiers and trainers with high-fidelity data collection and after-action review capabilities during large-scale training exercises. ARC's technology aims to transform subjective battlefield observations into objective, real-time data for commanders. The company's modular system is designed to bridge the gap between training and combat equipment, allowing soldiers to train with the same sensors they use operationally. "We can't accelerate readiness if we can't measure it, and this effort begins to close that gap," said Mike Canty, ARC's chief executive officer. The requirement originated from Army tactical units seeking improved training capabilities.
