Avenue

Avenue

Data monitoring with cross-team alerting

Overview

Avenue builds a platform that watches a company’s data from sources like Google Sheets or Postgres to spot issues without manual checking. It uses a drag-and-drop playbook builder to create alerts and connects those alerts across different tools so teams stay in sync without switching context. An Operational AI Copilot can automatically resolve some alerts and decide when action is needed. This makes it easier for operations and engineering teams to monitor complex systems and respond quickly. The product is delivered on a subscription basis, with the goal of improving operational efficiency by continuous data monitoring, unified alerting, and automated issue resolution.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • September 2021 seed funding reached $4M led by Accel, signaling strong early conviction.
  • Avenue won YC W21 and attracted operators from Uber, DoorDash, Flexport, and Airbnb.
  • Its warehouse-native alerts solved real-time response gaps that dashboard monitoring missed for ops teams.

What critics are saying

  • Clay acquired Avenue on January 21, 2025 and sunset the standalone product.
  • Census now migrates Avenue customers, proving Avenue lost its independent go-to-market.
  • Avenue's existential risk is brand disappearance: no standalone roadmap, no autonomous distribution.

What makes Avenue unique

  • Avenue turned warehouse data into operational alerts for business teams, not engineers.
  • Its drag-and-drop playbooks and SQL editor lowered adoption for nontechnical operators.
  • Clay's 2025 acquisition validated Avenue's first-party data and intent-signal workflow DNA.
