Deloitte acquires BDO's Dayforce practice.

Deloitte acquires BDO's Dayforce practice. 06 August 2026 Consulting.ca Deloitte Canada has expanded its human capital management (HCM) solutions capabilities with the acquisition of BDO Canada's Dayforce practice. Dayforce (formerly Ceridian) is a popular HCM software platform, providing solutions across payroll, tax filing, benefits, HR, talent intelligence, workforce management, and recruiting technology. The Minneapolis-based firm was in February acquired by private equity firm Thoma Bravo. BDO says it is selling its Dayforce practice for compliance reasons arising from the private equity acquisition, which also included a significant minority investment from the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority. "The Thoma Bravo acquisition of Dayforce introduced global independence restrictions for BDO Canada that have changed the nature of our relationship with the organization and the way in which we provide Dayforce implementation services," said Bruno Suppa, CEO of BDO Canada. "By transitioning the Dayforce practice, this gives this team of specialized professionals further flexibility to expand their practice and to continue supporting clients with their implementation needs." Deloitte says the acquisition will expand its Dayforce practice into one of the largest in Canada. "This expansion of our Dayforce capabilities strengthens our ability to deliver a differentiated workforce technology offering and increases our leadership in Human Capital transformation and advisory," said Anthony Viel, CEO of Deloitte Canada. Brad Francis, national human capital leader at Deloitte Canada, added, "This investment reflects our continued focus on scaling innovative and differentiated capabilities and deepening our specialization in a platform that is gaining strong momentum in Canada."

BDO Canada launches Defence Cyber Readiness Accelerator.

BDO Canada launches Defence Cyber Readiness Accelerator. Helping businesses meet new required cyber certification. Published: June 10, 2026 Today, BDO Canada announced the launch of its Defence Cyber Readiness Accelerator, a new advisory service designed to help businesses navigate the Canadian Program for Cyber Security Certification (CPCSC). As the CPCSC, a new federal cybersecurity framework for defence procurement, introduces baseline cybersecurity requirements for organizations handling sensitive but unclassified defence information, BDO Canada's Defence Cyber Readiness Accelerator is designed to help organizations prepare. The offering supports businesses in assessing readiness, identifying compliance gaps, and building practical pathways toward certification and long-term procurement eligibility. As part of BDO Canada's broader defence-sector offering spanning compliance, capability, and capital, the Accelerator is intended to help strengthen supply chain trust and support wider participation in Canada's growing defence industry. "Cybersecurity is a foundational requirement for doing business in the defence sector, and CPCSC is an important step in strengthening Canada's defence supply chain. As CPCSC requirements begin to appear in defence contracts, suppliers and subcontractors will increasingly need to demonstrate cybersecurity readiness. For many organizations, this is an opportunity to build the capabilities needed to participate and compete in a growing market. We're here to help businesses navigate these requirements with confidence and turn cybersecurity readiness into a real competitive advantage." Rocco Galletto, Partner, Cybersecurity, BDO Canada A narrowing window for Canadian suppliers. As the federal government begins integrating CPCSC requirements into upcoming defence procurement opportunities, organizations across the supply chain are facing increasing pressure to prepare. Companies that are unable to demonstrate the appropriate level of cybersecurity readiness may risk losing access to future contract opportunities and could face challenges maintaining eligibility for existing defence-related work. "With over $81 billion in additional federal defence spending expected over the next five years, most Canadian companies looking at the defence opportunity don't just have a cybersecurity problem, they have a sequencing problem. They need to know what's required now, what can wait, and what becomes mandatory the moment they win their first contract. Our Defence Cyber Readiness Accelerator is built to give business leaders a clear, practical path through CPCSC so they can compete for defence work without overextending the business." Mike Abbott, Partner, Technology & Regulatory Advisory, BDO Canada Built on BDO's defence sector experience. BDO Canada already serves more than 250 clients across the Canadian defence ecosystem, including aerospace manufacturers, robotics innovators, infrastructure firms, logistics providers, and technology suppliers. The firm's defence industry team brings together cross-functional expertise across cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, government incentives, deal advisory, manufacturing, infrastructure, and public sector, giving businesses access to a single team that understands the full defence-entry lifecycle. About BDO. BDO helps businesses do more. BDO Canada LLP offer an integrated offering of accounting, assurance, tax and consulting services grounded in deep industry knowledge. BDO collaborates with Microsoft to pilot Frontier Flashpoint: A delivery blueprint for agentic AI workflows français.

BDO collaborates with Microsoft to pilot Frontier Flashpoint: A delivery blueprint for agentic AI workflows français. Mar 31, 2026, 08:00 ET TORONTO, March 31, 2026 /CNW/ - Today, BDO announced it is collaborating with Microsoft on the pilot of the Frontier Flashpoint framework, which is the product of a strategic collaboration between the two firms and represents a shared effort to turn the potential of agentic AI into practical reality. As part of this initiative, BDO and Microsoft designed, tested, and validated a scalable model for integrating agentic AI across key business workflows, using Microsoft's own AI Business Solutions Go-To-Market team as a real-world design and testing environment. The insights gained through this engagement have helped shape a repeatable approach that other organizations can adopt as their teams pursue their own AI transformation journeys. "Our collaboration demonstrates how agentic AI can move from concept to scalable reality," said David Iudiciani, Partner, BDO Canada. "By co-creating this blueprint with Microsoft, and our BDO teams across Canada and the US, we're not only validating the power of agentic AI within real business environments, we're helping define what effective, responsible AI build, deployment, and adoption looks like for modern enterprise teams." The collaboration aligns BDO's AI Vision 2030, which envisions a human-led, AI-embedded future, with Microsoft's Frontier Firm vision, which aims to define the characteristics and capabilities of the next generation of AI-integrated organizations. By co-developing this blueprint together, BDO and Microsoft are helping to pioneer a new standard for how business teams can responsibly and effectively leverage agentic AI. "Collaborating with Microsoft to deliver Frontier Flashpoint offers our clients the power of choice when it comes to futureproofing not just their operations but more importantly their teams, as they progress on their agentic AI journeys," said Bill Syrros, National AI Leader, BDO Canada. "In the near future, at BDO, we believe that AI will become true infrastructure that's embedded into all aspects of life, and we're proud to partner with firms like Microsoft so we can move toward this future vision with care, trust, and people in mind." "Working with BDO gave us an opportunity to open new pathways for our teams to embrace agentic AI," said Hussain Mahmood, General Manager AI Business Solutions, Microsoft. "With Microsoft serving as 'customer zero' to co-develop and test this blueprint in a real business environment, we demonstrated how AI can empower people to achieve more with confidence and accountability." This collaboration reinforces BDO's role as a trusted innovation partner to Microsoft, advancing a shared belief in the power of human insight and technology working together to create lasting impact. BDO was also recently awarded the Microsoft Frontier Partner Badge designation, further signalling the firm's impact and leadership in this domain.
