Tarentum Borough to launch new utility billing system on June 1, 2026.

Tarentum Borough to launch new utility billing system on June 1, 2026. Overview. Tarentum Borough will officially transition to a new utility billing and payment platform from BS&A Software on June 1, 2026, as the Borough's current utility billing system contract comes to an end. The transition is part of a broader effort to modernize customer service, improve online access, and provide additional payment options for residents and utility customers. The Borough selected BS&A Software following a review of available platforms and system capabilities. The new system will provide faster payment processing, improved account access, expanded online services, and additional features that will better support residents and Borough operations moving forward. One of the most important items for residents to know is that current utility account numbers will remain the same in the new system to help make the transition easier. Customers can find their existing 12 digit account number in the upper right-hand corner of their utility bill under "Account Number." The new system will also introduce additional online payment options, including Apple Pay and Google Pay, along with improved online account management tools. Departments such as zoning and code enforcement permits and related payments will also be integrated into the new platform. Residents should be aware of several important transition dates: * Beginning May 25, 2026, customers will no longer be able to log into the current online payment portal while the Borough completes the system conversion. * The new BS&A payment portal is expected to go live on June 1, 2026. * Customers will still visit the Borough website at Tarentum Borough Website and click "Pay Bills Here," which will redirect them to the new portal. Customers who currently use autopay or saved payment methods will need to re-enter their payment information and re-establish autopay settings once the new system launches. This step is being required to ensure account accuracy and security during the transition. Residents should also note that while online payment options are expanding, the Borough will continue accepting traditional forms of payment, including cash and checks, at the Borough office. Over the next several weeks, Tarentum Borough staff will continue working closely with BS&A to complete the data conversion and testing process. Additional instructions and reminders will be provided to residents as the launch date approaches. Tarentum Borough appreciates the community's patience during this transition as the Borough continues investing in improved customer service and modernized utility operations. Payment options available. Tarentum Borough will continue to offer multiple convenient payment options for utility customers before and after the transition to the new BS&A billing system. Customers will be able to make payments using: * Online payments through the Borough's utility portal * Apple Pay * Google Pay * Debit and credit cards * ACH / direct bank account payments * Autopay enrollment * Over-the-phone payments through the automated IVR phone payment system * Cash payments at the Borough office * Check or money order payments by mail or in person Residents will continue to access online payments by visiting Tarentum Borough Website and selecting "Pay Bills Here." Customers currently enrolled in autopay or who have saved payment methods will need to re-enter their payment information and re-establish autopay once the new system goes live on June 1, 2026. This is being done to ensure account accuracy and security during the transition. Finally, as before, any credit card or online transaction has a fee or percentage paid to the processing company. Tarentum Borough does not receive those funds. Utility billing system upgrade FAQ. When is the new system launching? The new BS&A utility billing system is expected to go live on June 1, 2026.
