Overview

Barrett Hospital & HealthCare is an independent, nonprofit community hospital serving Dillon and Southwest Montana. As a critical access hospital, a designation for small rural hospitals, it pairs inpatient care and a 24-hour emergency department with general surgery, obstetrics, newborn care, imaging and laboratory services. Primary care, walk-in and specialty clinics extend treatment into orthopedics, urology, gynecology, oncology services, behavioral health and rehabilitation therapies. The hospital is not part of a larger system: a volunteer board of local residents governs it, and its earnings are reinvested. Barrett dates its founding to 1922, when construction began on its original hospital building, and is based in Dillon, Montana.
