Base.club is a professional networking platform that uses AI to connect members for meaningful, non-transactional relationships. Members join through nomination or direct application and are part of an exclusive community. Each month, the AI matches members in their city based on shared interests and goals, and member reviews help improve future matches. The platform also hosts biannual events for additional networking opportunities. Unlike more transactional networking sites, Base.club emphasizes authentic help-for-growth relationships and curates its community around archetypes like entrepreneurs, leaders, scholars, and artists. Its goal is to help professionals build genuine connections that support personal and professional growth via a focused, membership-based model.

By Riley KaminerBase is redefining how people connect by fostering intellectual communities across the country. With a mission to bring great minds together, the Miami startup has carved out a unique space for people to meet, discuss, and grow around shared topics of interest.“The best way for people to meet isn’t through transactional networking events but by engaging in meaningful conversations around intellectual topics,” said Kaben Clauson, co-founder and CEO of Base. This philosophy has helped Base build forums for diverse individuals to connect deeply, creating collisions of different backgrounds and ideas.Since launching in Chicago last fall and Austin in November, Base has rapidly grown. Both cities experienced quick adoption, and the platform is now expanding into 15 additional cities this year, including DC, Denver, Charlotte, Nashville, and Miami. Each city takes on its own flavor – for instance, as Miami exudes glitz and glam, Austin embraces its characteristic weirdness.Base’s unique approach has been fueled by $3.5 million in funding to date, including a $3 million round led by Treble in October. This financial backing has enabled the company to refine its platform and grow its user base sevenfold in 2024, both in members and revenue.Clauson emphasized that Base’s growth strategy is not just about scale but about maintaining the health of its communities. “We’re very intentional about balancing our ethos,” he said. “For example, if a city skews too heavily toward tech professionals, we’ll intentionally target people from the sciences or other backgrounds to keep the community vibrant and diverse.” This deliberate approach extends to their advertising strategy, which focuses on finding members who align with Base’s values rather than just optimizing for the lowest cost per lead. The tech behind Base has also evolved significantly
Mana Tech has partnered with Base to nurture their exclusive events and support the growth and development of their community.

The BITE-CON Foundation engages, educates, and exposes the Black and Brown community to emerging technologies through strategic events, partnerships, and workforce development initiatives. 4Geeks Academy is renowned globally for its coding education, graduating over 4,000 students across its 8 campuses, and placing 84% in relevant tech positions.BITE-CON and 4Geeks Academy are introducing three pivotal scholarship opportunities: the TechBoost Scholarship, HBCU Scholarship, and the Miami Tech Talent Coalition Scholarship. Each scholarship is designed to empower individuals to enroll in 4Geeks Academy’s Full Stack Development or Data Science and Machine Learning programs by providing significant financial support.“The partnership has tremendous potential,” BITE-CON founder and Executive Director Temanté Leary told the Miami Herald. “We are working on several initiatives in addition to providing scholarship opportunities for those who want to break into tech by way of bootcamp.”Those include putting on periodic educational workshops. The first one, in June in the debut of a Web3 TechTalk series, was titled “Leveraging Blockchain for Social Impact,” featuring Nandy Martin, Chairman of the Captain Haiti Foundation, who discussed technology’s influential role in uplifting Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood. The partnership also plans to provide certificate programs starting, with an AI certification from Microsoft
The startup is creating in-person events in an age where professional and social connections are moving online.
